M. Ian Dunlap, CPA, CFP^®

After serving five years with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, Ian began serving the Escondido area as a Staff Accountant in 2004. He worked extensively in the area of income tax compliance before becoming a Financial Advisor in 2007. As a Partner at Pathway Advisors he uses his expertise in both disciplines to assist individuals and small business owners in navigating the financial markets and integrating their financial needs with current tax compliance and planning concerns.

After graduating from California State University - San Marcos in 2007, he became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2009. He then went on to complete the Personal Financial Planning Certificate program from the University of California – Irvine and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation in 2011. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Science (MS) program for Financial Planning and Taxation / Estate Planning at Golden Gate University.

Ian is married to Melissa and they have two children — Liam and Sydney. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and kids, and exploring local craft breweries and wineries.

Jeff Wiyninger, CFP^®, PPC^™

After growing up watching his single mother struggle with financial matters Jeff decided to pursue a career in financial literacy and planning. He has been working helping families and small businesses in San Diego for the last 10 years.

He graduated from California State University San Marcos in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. In 2013 he completed the Executive Financial Planner Advanced Certificate Program offered by San Diego State University and passed the CFP^® exam in 2014. Jeff also holds a Professional Plan Consultant™, or PPC™ from fi360^®.

Jeff specializes in many areas of financial planning including Investment Planning, College Savings Planning and Retirement Planning. He has many year’s experience working with employer sponsored plans, including Sharps Hospital, Scripps Hospital and many other large plans.

Jeff has been a resident of Southern California for 37 years and is committed to helping the community. In his spare time he enjoys camping, backpacking, fishing, mountain biking and collecting LP's.

Ginny Leon

While attending California State University San Marcos, Ginny began her work in the financial services industry after getting an internship with a financial advisor (aka Ian Dunlap!). Here she learned the ins and outs of the business and quickly knew she had a passion for helping people gain financial independence.

After graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Finance, Ginny continued working with Ian and Jeff to help service their clients and to ensure that each client was getting the individualized attention they deserved. She also spends some of her time working in the tax and accounting business which helps further her knowledge in strategic financial planning.

In her spare time, Ginny enjoys spending time with her husband, Victor, their son Evan, and their Maltipoo, Kaila – whether it be going on walks or just hanging out at home. Ginny also enjoys gardening, trying out new restaurants, and visiting local wineries and breweries.

Verenice Gomez

Verenice Gomez aka “V”, joined the Pathway Advisors team in August 2018. After working over 10 years in the veterinary medicine field, she decided it was time for a new challenge. As branch office administrator V handles the day to day administrative operations while providing excellent customer service. From opening new accounts, confirming distribution requests and scheduling appointments, V ensures you are being taken care of.

V is currently enrolled at Palomar College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration and hoping to transfer to CSUSM or SDSU in one year. When V is not working or at school, V loves to spend time with her family and her animals. She has a llama named George, a mini horse named Joey, 2 goats named Rosie and Suzanne and a chihuahua named Buddy. V can also be found spending time with her boyfriend Brett, who love going on adventures and visiting local breweries.
